Credito Artigiano and the Lady with Ermine. A renewed artistic commitment.
Credito Artigiano, a Credito Valtellinese Group member bank, has historically been very linked to its home territory. In fifty years' activity, Credito Artigiano not only established a close relationship with the local economy, but also supported activities aimed at fostering the local art and culture. Since Credito Artigiano actively operates in the provinces of Rome, Milan and Florence, it enthusiastically joined the initiative by the Ministry of Culture aimed at taking the picture Lady with Ermine by Leonardo da Vinci there. The contribution made to Leonardo's masterpiece exhibition shows a commitment that, in recent years, led Credito Artigiano to undertake a number of publishing initiatives in association with the Biblioteca Ambrosiana and the Museo Diocesano, as well as important art exhibitions in association with the Museo Archeologico. In Monza, in association with Opera del Duomo, Credito Artigiano financed the restoration of the XV-century Lombard polyptych Madonna con Bambino e Santi. In Rome, Credito Artigiano contributed to recover the original splendour of the sculpture Apollo and Daphne by Gian Lorenzo Bernini and Borghese Gallery room III.
Credito Artigiano has also showed great interest in the arts by mounting modern and contemporary art exhibitions in a standing exhibition centre: Credito Valtellinese Group Gallery inside the "Stelline Refectory" in Milan. During its eleven years' activity, the Gallery hosted Wharol, Ernst, Brauner, Beuys, Baselitz, Matta, Adami, Kounellis exhibitions.
