"Comunicare la Montagna 2002"
ABOUT THIS CONFERENCE
The conference focuses on some aspects of "Comunicare la montagna 2002", the project undertaken by Società Economica Valtellinese (SEV).
The project includes a series of initiatives for improving the quality of the local administration in the province of Sondrio, in particular as regards social communications, which definitely have a strong impact on the community social behaviours.
Basically, the project promotes research and analysis of facts and events linked to the cultural and economic globalisation, which has led to a progressive crisis in the mountain areas. The SEV has organised a number of initiatives aimed at recovering the distinctive features of these areas, among which:
A permanent observatory on the mountain social communications, which collects publications and multimedia documents about mountain areas
Research and analysis of specialized material
A contest consisting of two stages: the first one is called 'Comunicare la montagna', the other one 'Comunicare la Valtellina'. The contestants are the authors of articles, studies and research, as well as of radio and television reportages and web sites.
The initiatives and events linked to the project "Comunicare la Montagna 2002" are scheduled to end early in 2003. On the occasion, the first book of the series "Comunicare la Montagna", sponsored by SEV, will be presented in Sondrio, along with some reports by experts, a summary of the best works that have taken part in the contest and the conclusions of the project "Comunicare la Montagna 2002", which will be helpful to further improve the event for the years to come.
