Credito Valtellinese presents the volume ONLUS.
Non-commercial bodies and Parishes.
On Tuesday, May 12, Credito Valtellinese is presenting the volume O.N.L.U.S. Non-commercial bodies and Parishes, in Palazzo Sertoli Dance Hall, in Sondrio. Credito Artigiano, a Credito Valtellinese Group bank, realised the book in collaboration with the Milan Curia Attorney General. It is a very topical book, which analyses the recent law by decree n° 460, dated December 4 1997.
Such a decree represented a considerable innovation in the Italian legal system, because it was the first attempt to regulate the so-called Third Sector, which is better known as "non-profit sector". The non-profit Sector has been operating since long in our Country but, in spite of its high potentials and the effective services it provides to citizens, it has not been fully appreciated yet. In recent years, however, the welfare state crisis, the market structural inadequacy to offering services accessible to everybody, the increasing sensibility and solidarity made the non-profit sector play a prominent role. Cardinal Carlo Maria Martini described it as "a reality similar to the Christian feeling, characterised by gratuity and unselfish services provided to the fellow men, that is by characteristics of the evangelical spirit".
The work aims at providing any useful information to the organs concerned so that they can make their own choices and at helping them understand the advantages linked to the ONLUS condition and to fulfil the numerous duties it requires.
The book target is therefore remarkably practical. It aims at offering an easy and effective instrument to voluntary service organizations, social co-operatives, non-governmental organizations, as well as to parishes and clerical bodies (dioceses, religious institutes, faith foundations), so that they can understand and perform recent laws in force. The book includes various sections. Section one illustrates the main news concerning non-commercial bodies. Section two illustrates the ONLUS figure. Section three is about the ONLUS accounting duties and budget. Finally, section four illustrates regulations and documents. Some of the authors, the graduates in economics Gian Mario Colombo and Flavio Pizzini, are attending the presentation.
