Fitch Ratings confirms rating given to Credito Valtellinese. New rating assessed by Moody's
Sondrio, Monday February 4th 2002 - the credit rating BBB+ given to Credito Valtellinese - parent bank of the banking Group with the same name - has recently been confirmed by the agency Fitch Ratings.
The rating has confirmed the parent bank skill as regards both funding and capitalization, which seems to be quite appropriate to the nature of the banking activity and of the risks taken by Credito Valtellinese.
In addition to the rating already given by Fitch Ratings, Credito Valtellinese and Bancaperta have also obtained the credit rating given by another important agency: Moody's.
Both banks have been given the same rating (Baa1) and have been placed among the best banking Groups that operate at a regional level.
Moody's regards the relevant presence on the local market, a high and steady interest margin, a well-defined Internet strategy and the sources of income diversification, which protects the bank from the financial market instability, as positive aspects of the Credito Valtellinese profile.
Moody's has also assessed the strategic role Bancaperta plays within Credito Valtellinese banking Group, giving it the same rating as the parent bank. Great importance has been attached to Bancaperta's central role as regards all issues pertinent to virtual banking, treasury services and negotiations, assets administrations, Corporate Finance, Private Banking and Bank Insurance. The rating also focuses on the innovative multi-channel strategy adopted with the line banc@perta, which can meet the customers' increasing and changeable requirements offering a wide range of advanced products and services.
Such considerable ratings, obtained in accordance with internationally accepted standards, have increased the Group's visibility in the international banking system. This will allow the member banks to easily access the financial markets and to further develop their overseas activities.
