Invitation to Palazzo Sertoli on Saturday, September 21

Credito Valtellinese welcomes citizens to the bank headquarters

'Invito a Palazzo' is an initiative of the Italian Banking Association (ABI). The ABI member banks are opening their headquarters in the historical buildings of the cities where they are based, to welcome the citizens. Also the Credito Valtellinese has joined the initiative, which was first launched last year with the opening of the ABI headquarters in Palazzo Altieri, in Rome.

The event is expected to take place on Saturday, September 21 2002, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. in something like 100 historical buildings where more than 50 banks are based. By admiring magnificent instances of Italian architecture dating from the 14th century to nowadays, the visitors are taking a leap into the past. Admittance is free.

The Credito Valtellinese headquarters with the head office and general management are in Palazzo Sertoli in Sondrio. Next to Palazzo Sertoli are Palazzo Giacconi and Palazzo Paribelli. Together the three historical buildings make a fascinating architectural complex situated in the old town centre.

From 1984 to 1986, the complex was under restoration to recover the main architectural elements, as well as some interesting works of art.

The visitors are also enjoying a tour of the bank art gallery housed inside Palazzo Sertoli and of the garden, usually open to the public to host exhibitions of sculptures by great contemporary artists.
