Selected candidates for attending the Cisco-Ccna course promoted by Credito Valtellinese Foundation Local Academy

On March 19 2001, 35 candidates passed the test for assessing if they had all the necessary qualifications for attending the Cisco post-graduate course promoted by Credito Valtellinese Foundation Local Academy to instruct system administrators in configuring corporate Intranets and enabling Internet access by the public.

Candidates were asked a series of questions in English about Information Technology. The questionnaire, in fact, was meant to assess their knowledge of the IT fundamentals, as well as of the English language.

Thirty candidates qualified for the course. Twelve of them were unemployed and the other eighteen employed.

Since each course is meant for 15 participants at the most, a great number of qualified candidates will be left out. That's why the Foundation is organising a second course with the same contents to make the initiative benefit all qualified candidates.

Also for this second course, the Foundation is sustaining most of the costs (L. 2 million) for the unemployed participants, who will be offered the opportunity to benefit from the fido@perto financing. As regards the employed participants, the cost will be of the same amount as the advantageous price asked by the Cisco Local Academies in Italy.

The courses will last 7 months, 280 hours in all, including theory (180 hours) and practice (100 hours). Participants are also making stages with some companies to focus on practical aspects. This will also offer job opportunities to the unemployed.

The first course will begin on April 9, the second on April 20.
