The Board of Directors of Credito Siciliano approves half-year figures as at 30 June 2005
Acireale, 1 September 2005. The Board of Directors of Banca dell'Artigianato e dell'Industria S.p.A., a bank in the Credito Valtellinese group, has examined and approved figures for the first half of 2005, which show an overall positive trend in operations: the gross operating profit is up 26.3%; the net profit is up 63.9% compared to 30/06/2004. Overall deposits stand at 3,476.0 million euros (up 3.8% from December 2004), 2,015.6 million euros of which are direct deposits (up 2.1% from December 2004) and 1,460.4 million euros indirect deposits (up 6.3% from December 2004), 642.1 million euros of which are managed assets (up 14.5% from December 2004). Loans to customers, up 1.2% compared to December 2004, came in at 1,539.6 million euros. The income statement shows an interest margin of 35.5 million euros (up 2.0% from June 2004). The brokerage margin reached 59.8 million euros (up 6.6% from June 2004); operating costs at the end of June 2005 amounted to 47.5 million euros (up 4.3% compared to the figure for June 2004). The gross operating profit amounts to 6,9 million euros, showing a 26.3% increase over June 2004. The profit on ordinary operations, net of depreciation, adjustments, and provisions, amounts to 3.5 million euros (up 65.5% from June 2004), whereas the net profit for the period, net of taxes for the year (2.4 million euros), came in at 1.1 million euros (+63.9%), as compared with 701 thousand euros in the first half of 2004.
During the first half of 2005, inspections were completed to maintain quality certifications for ISO 9001 and the PattiChiari project. Moreover, as part of a fruitful partnership with Confindustria, specialisation courses were organised regarding management of bank-to-business relations.
