Bancaperta S.p.A. - a Credito Valtellinese Group member company - attains very positive results for 2001. Net profits over € 4.8 million (+32.6%)

Sondrio, February 28th 2002 - Bancaperta's net profits for the year ended December 31st 2001 saw a considerable increase: € 4,869,298, compared with € 3,606,136 for the year 2000.

Bancaperta - which has recently been given the "Baa1" rating for its reliable financial position (the same as the parent bank Credito Valtellinese) assessed by Moody's - is the company entrusted with all issues pertinent to asset management, e-banking, bank-insurance, corporate finance, private banking, as well as with the Group's business linked to the financial markets.

In addition to taking care of more than 47,000 assets administrations contracts, Bancaperta also provides advice for the Luxembourg Sicav Julius Baer Multicooperation as regards the Italian Bond and Italian Stock Funds. In particular, the Italian Stock Fund has been given important awards in accordance with internationally accepted standards (e.g. the Julius Baer 2001 Fund Award, Awards given by Standard & Poor's in Vienna and Zurich for the best Italian Stock Fund).

Furthermore, Bancaperta has been offering the innovative bank-insurance products called "PF+A", which combine multimanager assets administrations with insurance benefits and coverage deriving from a life policy.

As regards the virtual banking, the number of banc@perta users has been increasing considerably. At present, over 93,000 customers benefit from the banc@perta products and services, compared with 49,000 users as at December 31st 2000.

Bancaperta is the first bank in Italy that has been certified with the Qwebmark for @pertacity, the Credito Valtellinese Group's Web site for the e-commerce.
