Credito Valtellinese executives meet high-school students in Sondrio
What is a bank today? What will it be like tomorrow? What is the meaning of marketing? Which professional abilities does a modern banking system require? These are some of the questions the students attending the last year of the high school asked to Credito Valtellinese executives, during the vocational guidance meeting, on Monday, May 24, in Pedretti Theatre in Sondrio.
The provincial director of education, Mr Nicola Montrone, said thanks to the bank for organising such an interesting meeting between the school and the professional realities. Credito Valtellinese Managing Director, Giovanni De Censi, focused on the close tie that should exist between the bank and its working environment. He recalled some of the past events in his career, urging the students to become "self-entrepreneurs". To such aim, they need a constant and serious engagement, in order to find new ideas. According to De Censi, "Each day spent without developing any new idea is a wasted day".
Then, Umberto Colli, the finance superintendent, illustrated Credito Valtellinese banking Group structure, "an open structure, a network", mentioning the strategic financial and insurance alliances (with the Swiss group Julius Baer and with Cattolica Assicurazioni). Luigi Tavasci, Bancaperta under-General Manager, analysed the concept of virtual bank. "The virtual bank represents the evolution of the traditional bank. It is an innovative form of banking through the new technologies" Tavasci said. Then, he spoke about the present payment systems, insisting on their effectiveness and rapidity. Michele Gusmeroli, the marketing superintendent, spoke about the banking system evolution trends, which are more and more influenced by different factors, e.g. competition, the so-called "rates scissors reduction", costs increase. According to Gusmeroli, in order to attain significant objectives, the bank must individuate the customer's very needs, first. Then, the bank should attend to each customer "as if he was the only one", so that it will gain his confidence.
Gusmeroli individuated two basic concepts for the bank marketing: "understand the customer, know the products".
Finally, Antonio Fraccaroli, the human resources superintendent, outlined the evolution of the bank, from bureaucratic structure to enterprise and reaffirmed the banking profession foundations: creativity, financial competence, relation ability knowledge of the new technologies, continuous professional innovation. "Nowadays, a bank needs competence and knowledge in various field". This was the message Fraccaroli gave to the students. He meant that today there is enough room for all good and deserving people.
