Bancaperta S.p.A. (Credito Valtellinese Group) boosts net assets (twice as much)

Net profits over L. 7 billion

2000 was a successful year for Bancaperta, as the bank saw a considerable increase in net profits, as well as in net assets.

In fact, Bancaperta net profits for 2000 totalled L. 7.1 billion, with an increase by 20% in comparison with net profits for 1999 (L. 5.9 billion). As at December 31 2000, net assets amounted to L. 112.4 billion, twice as much as in 1999 (L. 67.2 billion).

Bancaperta is a Credito Valtellinese Group member bank. Renato Bartesaghi, Bancaperta Chairman, is also the Parent Bank General Manager. Bancaperta is the company entrusted with the whole Group's financial activities, in particular with asset management. Incomes from assets administrations and private banking services amount to more than L. 5,000 billion (more than 43,000 contracts).

As far as virtual banking is concerned, there were about 50,000 banc@perta users at the end of 2000, in comparison with 14,000 users as at December 31 1999. The clientele was particularly interested in conto@perto, the innovative current account on line that is offered to banc@perta users at very advantageous conditions.

Last year Bancaperta was certified in conformity with UNI EN ISO 9002 quality standards. Bancaperta has been the first certified web bank in Italy.

The company is also entrusted with the insurance sector, as it covers all risks associated with the Group's business activity and co-ordinates the offer of insurance products and services to the Group's clientele.
